25/10/2002 - Telephone Support
We now offer telephone support in addition to email support. You may telephone us on 0870 922 0089, and although you are likely to get a recorded greeting, you can leave a voice mail and we will ring you back or email you as necessary.

30/10/2001 - Windows 2000 Servers
All new customers will now have their websites hosted on Windows 2000 Servers, all existing customers will also be migrated free of charge to Windows 2000 (we will contact customers individually to arrange dates). Windows 2000 offers all the existing features of our NT-based access and premier plans, but with new benefits as follows:

1. Windows 2000 websites are hosted on Intel ISP2150 Intel Servers with 512MB of RAM and dual Pentium III processors. The advanced web hosting technology in Windows 2000 results in higher speed and higher availability for your websites.
2. Each website has it's own private memory space for your scripts (such as ASP) and CGI programs. This results in much faster execution time and higher availability.
3. You will be able to password protect an unlimited number of folders in your website using standard HTTP authentication, meaning visitors will get the familiar username/password dialog box when visiting these ares of your website. These usernames and passwords are stored in a text file that you manage. This feature is planned to be introduced before the end of 2001 at a cost of £20 per year per domain.

We have introduced a new facility whereby existing customers can submit testimonials about the service we provide. Login to our members area to submit a testimonial. Prospective customers may view the testimonials by visiting our testimonials page.

31/12/2000 - Free Mobile Phone

10/11/2000 - Credit Card Ordering - Now Live !!!
Credit/debit card ordering has now gone live! All credit/debit card transactions are performed over a secure link using Netbanx Ltd. Netbanx is an established UK payment gateway, approved by the major UK banks, and used by all sizes of business including blue-chip companies. We are hoping to attract many new customers who may have been put off by our traditional methods of cheque or standing order payment. The credit/debit card ordering offers both our existing and new customers yet another enhanced facility from my-webspace.com. 01/11/2000 - New Access Hosting Plan
We have launched a new hosting plan called access. This plan is designed as an entry-level solution to obtaining a domain name and email addresses. We have priced this new plan at a very competitive £20 per year, which should draw many individuals and small businesses into obtaining their own domain name, website and email. The plan features a free domain name, web forwarding, email forwarding, and DNS management. This plan in no way replaces our flagship premier plan, which offers many features critical to the advanced business or web developer.

09/10/2000 - Credit Card Ordering - Update
Our bank has approved our application for credit card ordering, and we are now awaiting our welcome pack from Netbanx Ltd. We then need to submit some HTML templates to Netbanx Ltd, who will setup, approve and test the system, after which we can go live. Current estimate is that we are scheduled to go live with on-line credit card ordering on or around 6th November.

29/09/2000 - Credit Card Ordering
In response to customer demand, we are pleased to announce that we will be able to accept credit cards on-line within 2 weeks. Our new ordering system will go live around mid-October allowing us to offer "Instant Account Setup". This allows you to upload and use your website within the same day as ordering (subject to the worldwide propagation of your newly registered domain name).

28/09/2000 - New Premier Hosting Plan
Based on customer feedback, we found that our existing three hostings plans were not quite flexible enough. The argon plan was not being used, the krypton plan had neither Frontpage support nor Live Stats, whilst the xenon plan forced you to have (and pay for) both. We have therefore replaced all three plans with a single new plan called premier. Based on the same feature set as the old krypton plan and priced at the same £10 per month or £100 per year, it allows you to independently add any extras you require - such as Frontpage support, Live Stats, SSL security, extra domain names and extra webspace. Our existing customers will be offered the opportunity to upgrade their krypton plan or downgrade their xenon plan with the appropriate cost adjustment. We are excited about this new hosting plan, and hope that many of our existing and new customers will benefit from it.

21/09/2000 - Enhanced Control Panel
We are pleased to announce our new enhanced on-line control panel. With the new control panel existing members of my-webspace.com can have full control over their domain. You may add, edit or delete sub-domains, POP3 mailboxes, email aliases, email forwarders, auto responders and your ODBC connections. 01/09/2000 - Trace Route Utility
As a result of our bandwidth upgrade, we have provided a trace route utility on our support pages. The utility will track the speed and route your website takes to your browser or any other IP address you specify. This trace route will expose where any potential connection bottlenecks are occurring on the route from your website to your browser. We have selfishly provided this utility to exonerate ourselves from speed problems! We have found that most of the speed issues occur from the point where the route leaves the UK internet backbone to your ISP's web cache or your modem.

25/08/2000 - 155Mbit Internet Connection
Our internet connection has now been upgraded to 155Mbits, one of the fastest connections used by a UK hosting company. The connection is delivered over two separate fibre lines, routed diversely to different BT exchanges. Internet bandwidth is provided by BTNet, UUNet and Cable Internet, providing a 100% redundant and fault tolerant service. The new connection will dramatically speed up the hosting service we provide as well as increasing reliability. Our customers now benefit from one of the most advanced web hosting facilities available.
